SWAY

SWAY is one of our signature Nature Connectedness experiences.In SWAY, you climb big, old, amazing trees in our national parks, but where you would normally stay to get a quick view and rappel back down, you get to stay.Linger up there.All day and night. The purpose of SWAY is to give you the experience of being a tree.We dress up and take everything we need to the treetops. Here we build ourselves a sleeping place and stay up here overnight — in our climbing equipment. Once our groups have decided to delve into the experience of becoming one with the tree that hosts them tonight, they have begun their journey of transformation towards a deeper connection, inward and outward.

Practical information

Our guides are certified and experienced tree-climbing instructors. During SWAY we spend most of the time in the treetops and we work with common top anchors to ensure a fairly free movement in the treetops. This means that downfiring and bio breaks (forest toilet/snack filling) are done according to agreed schedules or mutual understanding with your rope partner.You can lie as low or as high as you want in your sleeping position. We spend the night in hammocks or commode in the treetops. You wear a climbing harness and helmet at all times when you are in the treetops. We provide all meals, snack-based food and drinks, but since you also spend time in your harness and can't walk to base all the time, it may be a good idea to have a personal snack in your pocket when hunger melts in the treetops. Wear clothes that are appropriate for the weather.

Our nature experiences are designed and facilitated with uttermost respect for the natural areas in which we operate and explore. Our experience catalogue is operated on demand. Further, we have partnered with a range of festivals, pop-up events, and local initiatives. In NEED FOR NATURE NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCES we have partnered with Danish National Parks. This means that we are operating both on stage and behind the scenes in the development of local tourism infrastructure and always strive to provide public and corporate tourism experience initiatives and experiences that specifically emphasizes the enhancement of an experienced deepenend human-nature connectedness. NEED FOR NATURE NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCES operate in all Danish National Parks. Our main office is located in National Park Kongernes Nordsjælland, and we are a proud part of NEED FOR NATURE GROUP. STAFF: All our guide staff are well educated, certified and skilled outdoor professionals. We have handpicked the best Outdoor recreation teachers, Nature- and Culture Interpreters, Climbing, Kayaking, Canoeing, Diving, Boating, Ballooning, Yoga, Mindfulness instructors Denmark has to offer, to ensure you a Nature Connectedness memory to last you a lifetime. As a corporation we value pristine nature, and the possibility to enjoy deep and profound experiences in it. We therefore, operate a strict Leave-No-Trace Policy, and in fact often try to regenerate and give back to the places we visit, and the fellow human beings visiting after our groups. We bring back all garbage we bring and find, we know and obey governmental rules and regulations for the areas we visit, we make sure to collect firewood for the next visitors in public nature spaces, and we might repair, refurbish or report any track, bridge, or shelter that we encounter out of order, during our National Park visits. All our element-experiences are carefully designed to pursue, spark, and nurture your intrinsic psychological need for nature and a connection to the more than human world. In our experience design we have taken a point of departure in six natural elements that we as experienced nature-based tourism professionals have great experience with as key paths to opening the human awareness to our surroundings. Further, all our experience products are based in Nature Connectedness Research evidence for drivers and factors that enhance the individual and collective experience of belonging and connection. Our guests usually describe an equal amount of experienced connectedness to the natural elements and environment, and connectedness to the fellow human beings with whom they share our National Park Experiences. Furthermore, we always go lengths to tailor your Nature Connectedness experience of choice to your group’s exact needs and are happy to adjust the experience and themes to fit your program.
